State to grant me any pension to which I may be entitled see-
ing that I have had fifteen years service under the Colonial
Govt. in the trying climate of Hong-Kong and that I have only
been home once during that period.
10. With regard to the last paragraph of your
letter I have the honour to respectfully request that, as I
was discharged from the Hospital on the morning of the 3rd.
inst.His Excellency the Governor may be graciously pleased
to remove the interdict on the exercise of the powers and
functions of my office so that pending the final consideration
of this matter I may be able to discharge those duties to some
extent even although it may be considered necessary that I
should do so under some supervision and thus while keeping my
mind occupied render assistance to my colleague. The store
returns and the preparation of the annual indents on the
Crown Agents for Medicines,&c.,will occupy much of the time
of one officer for the next six weeks at the least,
